Novo sues Hims & Hers as GLP-1 litigation passes 3,900 cases
Novo Nordisk has sued telehealth platform Hims & Hers, accusing it of deceiving patients by marketing and distributing compounded copies of Ozempic and Wegovy. Separately, product-liability litigation over GLP-1s has grown to 3,928 cases in multidistrict litigation as of 3 August 2026. Two different legal tracks, and they point in different directions.
The manufacturer suit
This is a commercial dispute: a manufacturer arguing that a telehealth platform marketed knockoff versions of its approved medicines in a way that deceived patients. It is the sharpest signal yet that manufacturers will litigate against the telehealth layer directly rather than only against compounding pharmacies.

That is a fast-growing docket concerning the medicines themselves rather than who sold them.
An MDL is a procedural consolidation, not a finding. A growing case count reflects how many people are taking these drugs and how organised the plaintiffs' bar is, and it is not by itself evidence that a medicine is unsafe. It is, however, a reason to have the risk conversation with a prescriber rather than a comparison site.
What it means practically
For the compounded market, the manufacturer suit is the consequential one. If marketing compounded copies exposes a telehealth platform to direct liability, the economics of running one change, and programs exit. Every exit is a continuity event for the people on it.
